WELCOME, FANS, TO THE NBA FINALS. At center court there's a dream matchup—the Airborne Michael Jordan going head-to-head with nonpareil Magic Johnson. Though Jordan's Chicago Bulls were slight favorites when the series opened, it's Johnson's L.A. Lakers who seem to boast the home-court advantage in terms of celebrity fans.

Regular ticket holders at the Forum in Inglewood, Calif., may be the only fans in the league more famous than the players. They are paid better too—and they have to be: Come the finals, courtside seats can be scalped for $1,000 a game.
