Reruns aren't the only problem in the summer. Consider the scarcity of decent TV sports. While in the fall you might gel baseball, football, basketball and hockey on the same day, in the summer you have to make do with baseball (which can get stale even with the best announcers in the game, ESPN's Jon Miller and Joe Morgan, doing the play-by-play). Sure you also get golf, but where's the thrill in watching a televised sport where the announcer's call amounts to: "The ball is up...and now it's down"? Anyway, summer TV sports coverage is so often unimaginative that after a while even an instant replay of a strike on the pro bowlers tour sounds relatively interesting.
