Karen Allen, Armand Assante

Two eternal truths are confirmed in this film about a college graduate student, Allen, who, while doing research in chimpanzees' ability to communicate by using sign langauge, falls in love with a music professor, Assante:

(1) Allen, who at 38 is a mite old to be playing a grad student, has the worst agent in the Western world, having parlayed one of the best roles in movie history (Raiders of the Lost Ark) into a zippo career;

(2) Assante ought to hook up with Allen's agent, since he is the worst actor in the Western world.

Michael the chimp is great. (PG)
