C. Thomas Howell and Daphne Zuniga star in an absolutely dreadful installment of the cable horror anthology Nightmare Classics, in which an Ohio frontier family is stalked by a mysterious panther. Not the least of this program's problems is that the sleek black panther never seems in the least menacing. It certainly is more interesting to watch than Zuniga, who is, as always, so divorced from real emotion that she appears to be acting under two feet of water, like one of the mermaids at Weeki Wachee Springs. The story is told in flashback by Howell as an old man in makeup left over from Planet of the Apes. The only thing scary about The Eyes of the Panther is that anyone thought it was suitable for broadcast.
