Picks and Pans Review: Clifford's Fun with Opposites

Clifford, the oversize canine, is another popular storybook survivor. Again, for good reasons. A neighborhood pet show serves in this tape as the basis for exploring such concepts as wildest and tamest, largest and shortest, as a squawking parrot sings catchy lyrics: "The opposite man...I want you all to say yes, yes so I can say no, no." A companion tape, Clifford's Fun with Sounds, tackles such highfalutin sound games as onomatopoeia—which the tape describes as "a funny word and a funny idea." Parents can play it safe by looking up the word beforehand. (Scholastic/f.h.e., $14.95; 800-752-9343)
