Sean Penn and Michael J. Fox are intensely affecting as two American soldiers in Vietnam, but they are handicapped by serving under director Brian DePalma, whose pontificating approach only barely falls short of labeling each of the scenes: BAD AMERICAN BEHAVIOR, REALLY BAD AMERICAN BEHAVIOR, UH-OH, TERRIFICALLY BAD AMERICAN BEHAVIOR.
