Richard Crenna reprises his role from the miniseries Doubletake and Internal Affairs as New York City cop Frank Janek in this pithy police procedural. A fine cast (Fred Gwynne, Diahann Carroll, Cliff Gorman), a taut plot and gritty atmosphere make this drama about Crenna's investigation into the death of the city's recently appointed black police commissioner a smooth, swift ride.
