Picks and Pans Review: Music on Video

UPDATED 01/08/1990 at 01:00 AM EST Originally published 01/08/1990 at 01:00 AM EST

Abdul bounces, shakes, struts, cavorts and, in her fashion, sings in five imaginatively produced videos in this collection. Mixed in is an interview with Abdul—she musters a winning blend of lively confidence and respect for her craft, citing Bob Fosse among her choreography inspirations. There are also clips of Abdul's days as a Laker cheerleader but nothing of her with prize dance student Janet Jackson. Then again, this tape isn't for popular dance historians; it's for Abdul fans, and it serves them well. (Virgin, $19.98)
