As a Sesame Street writer-composer, Jeff Moss won seven Emmys, shared four Grammys and created that lovable blue demon, Cookie Monster. Here are 89 of his Ogden Nash-ish poems, with drawings by Chris Demarest. Moss's verse brims with efficiency. He knows you don't need much poetry with a title like "What Ralph Said After He Asked His Parents for a Dog and They Explained How He Would Have to Feed It and Clean Up After It and Walk It." That entire poem: "Instead of a puppy/How about a guppy?" (Bantam, $14.95—from toddler up)
