He's America's best-known network investigative reporter, but this Emmy-winning dynamo is about to experience simultaneous career and conjugal crises.
Albert Finney in the lead and John Mahoney as his bestest buddy and producer both play it a little too smugly. Far better are Kathy Baker and Swoosie Kurtz as the good witch/bad witch of the TV studio. It's a slick, fast-paced melodrama, not especially long on realism.
