>Those wondering just what it is that Whoopi Goldberg does to warrant her celebrity will be further mystified after her cable doubleheader on Saturday (Feb. 17). On HBO's Whoopi Goldberg & Billy Connolly in Performance (10 P.M. ET), she briefly dusts off her stand-up act. But despite the billing, she's really there mostly to introduce Connolly, a bawdy Scottish funnyman with a light burr. Shortly thereafter that same night, she narrates the latest Motown on Showtime special (10:05 P.M. ET), this one dedicated to the career of silky soul singer and incredibly prolific songwriter Smokey Robinson. For Goldberg, the two shows represent maximum credit for minimum effort. The mystery career keeps right on rolling along. Next up for the Whoopster: a CBS series, Bagdad Cafe.
