NBC (Fridays, 9 P.M. ET)

B

They're a young, renegade, multi-ethnic narcotics squad in Las Vegas. Their speciality is the armed-to-the-teeth, smash-face bust of drug dens. It's 21 Jump Street with the violence and visual sheen of Miami Vice. Of the five nasties, Jeff Kaake is the most poster-ready and Benjamin Bratt the most charismatic. Dennis Franz is cast as the squad's boss, replacing William Russ from the pilot, which NBC rebroadcast last week. The rigors of making this a series have already stretched the credibility of the original show, but at least it's got style (cutthroat) and attitude (trigger happy).
