Baez, the patron saint of socially concerned folk singers, is a fairly frozen performer, with her statuesque presence and cool delivery. Not even special guest Jackson Browne, who joins her for two numbers, can thaw her out. Though Baez is in fine voice in this concert, the only note of passion she evokes comes in the Chilean song "Gracias a la Vida."
This show is meant to be a major lure in the March pledge drive, so PBS stations have more leeway than usual in scheduling it. So check your local listings.
