Mario Van Peebles directed this moving Schoolbreak Special about a high school basketball hotshot who must learn to cope with epilepsy and his overdeveloped ego. The cast includes Tony (True Blue) LoBianco, Susan Ruttan and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. But it's the artful, appealing performances of Jon Clair as Malcolm and Gregory "Mars" Martin as his best friend that make this little bird fly.
