Adjectives, huh? Well, let's see; there's colorful, delightful and imaginative. Those will do for the illustrations. And the text is instructive, witty and pithy. Both are by Ruth Heller, who manages to slip in some lessons, like explaining comparatives and superlatives, in this engaging little primer. (Grosset & Dunlap, $13.95—ages 4-8)
