Janice, a blond girl with a red bow in her hair, is diagnosed with leukemia. Linus and Charlie Brown provide friendship and support through her treatment. The animated special avoids being scary or maudlin because of a matter-of-fact script and Charles Schulz's usual wee-people perspective and serene drawing style. Anyway, Snoopy steals the show in his digressive comic vignettes.
