Put on the hernia belt for this one. And maybe a bowler and a tutu as well. It's a two-part celebration of the thoroughly bizarre, invigoratingly outrageous humor of the British comedy troupe Monty Python, inactive since 1983. (Part two airs the following night.) On Friday, the MPs—minus Graham Chapman, who died of cancer last year—reflect on the history of their merry band. This sequence contains rather too many talking heads and not enough silly walks.
Ah, but the second night is a wild and woolly compilation of clips, many familiar, some never seen here before. It's well worth taping. The likes of Monty Python will not slither this way again.
