Does anyone else sense that, cinematically anyway, the family unit is coming together again, like a film of it dissolving run backwards? In Short Time and Cadillac Man, divorced couples seem headed toward remarriage; in I Love You To Death, a family that should blow apart if ever one did stays intact come hell or hired killers. It's probably too soon for the divorce lawyers to have to think about starting to look for real work, but the phenomenon is something to keep an eye on.
