Picks and Pans Review: New on Video

Neither stuffy General Motors chairman Roger Smith nor phony-baloney Michael Moore, director of this self-congratulatory, fatuous documentary, distinguishes himself. Ostensibly pursuing an interview with Smith about unemployment in Flint, Mich., Moore makes himself as obnoxious as possible, bends the facts when it suits him and patronizes the people of Flint. Smith, meanwhile, seems to be running and hiding when he could have justifiably dismissed Moore with a sentence or two. (Warner)
