The list below of the top-grossing concert engagements (see Song) is nothing if not a tribute to the eclectic tastes of the American public. Predictably, you have the summer's pyrotechnic rock extravaganzas (Madonna, Phil Collins, Motley Crüe). And there are the tried-and-true blasts from the past, such as the Grateful Dead and Johnny Mathis. But there are oldies and then there are oldies: at No. 8, lodged between Mötley Crüe and Aerosmith, you find—Red Skelton? The rubber-faced comedian turns 77 July 18, and though his Clem Kadiddlehopper and Heathcliff routines haven't gotten wide exposure since his CBS series went off the air in 1971, he just about filled the hall in the Motor City. Wonder if Aerosmith will be filling the halls when they're 77.
