Saget, host and star, respectively, of two deservedly popular ABC shows (America's Funniest Home Videos and Full House), must have filmed this mind-numbing effort during coffee breaks. The stand-up comedy portion of his special is funny enough, but you have to slog through a long, inept dream sequence to get there. Only cameos by such talented comics as Mary Gross, Bob Goldthwait, Jack Carter and Dave Coulier and decent special effects keep the thing from being a total nightmare.

A Mamas and Papas-like band sings "California Dreamin' " in a segment that's in vile taste, with a Cass Elliot character munching on a ham sandwich. (The real singer died while eating a ham sandwich in 1974.)

Bob, the next time you have a little free time, do us all a favor. Go on a vacation.
