A black dentist (Frankie Faison) with two teenage sons marries a white woman (Stephanie Faracy) with a teenage daughter and an irascible mother (Nancy Walker).
This formulaic sitcom is a case of "love his, hate hers." The males, especially young Adam Jeffries, are winsome, while the ladies are neoprene ninnies. But their relative qualities are moot in light of the distressingly trite writing.
