Chris Elliott, David Letterman's recurring kook, gets his own show, a hit-and-too-often-miss affair about arrested development. At 30, he's a blissful ne'er-do-well who still lives above his parents" garage and has a paper route. Elliott's father, Bob, of Bob and Ray comedy fame, plays his retired pop here.

A Thousand Clowns it isn't. There are some funny bits, but Elliott has always leaned more on weird situations than punch lines, and that approach doesn't work in the sitcom format.
