Leave it to Fox to come up with a fresh variation on the old courtroom genre. Meet Michael O'Keefe, kamikaze lawyer. This is one legal beagle who's intimately familiar with the admonition "One more word from you, counselor, and I'll have you carried out of this court in chains."

This rebel with a case is quite a character. He also happens to be a dilly of an advocate. His dipso-biker investigator (M.C. Gainey) is a gas as well.

The show works because of O'Keefe's jacked-to-the-eyeballs performance. That's also the flaw. The series, like the star, seems to be trying a little too hard.
