This 23-minute tape for beginners seems to assume viewers have never left the house before, let alone gone skiing. "Be sure to take any money you need and some form of ID," says Colorado Springs ski instructor Mike Williams, as if an ID will help them identify your body after the winter thaw. He describes the rental process, tells what clothes to wear and discusses the first lesson. He also gives pointers on getting up after a fall, as well as how to get on and off the lift. This would be a good first tape to rent, but once you've made one trek to the mountain, it will be of little value. (Omega Films, $19.95; 719-687-1163)
