TV went to hell with Rivera, who showed us devil worshipers and death-row murderers on his specials and a brawl on his own talk show. He represents the worst, the very lowest in a frightening rush toward tabloid TV, also seen in Unsolved Mysteries, America's Most Wanted, Morton Downey Jr., High Risk, Incredible Sunday, On Trial, A Current Affair, Family Medical Center, Group One Medical (not to mention the occasional Oprah, Donahue, Sally Jessy Raphael and many local shows). TV, declining and falling, is starting to look like the Roman Coliseum.
