This hour-long National Geographic special is about dogs who are doing something with their lives, like digging out buried earthquake victims in Mexico City, tending herds of sheep in New Zealand and running the Iditarod, Alaska's grueling, 1,049-mile dogsled race. Yes, Rover, there is more to life than sitting up, rolling over and shaking hands. This fetching homage to the ruff-and-ready is a real doggie treat.
