But I say that's hooey, and now I have proof: Roseanne has beat The Cosby Show in the ratings for three of the past four weeks. It was Cosby who was kind and gentle. He represented the America of the '80s. And now he's history. Roseanne is wry, cynical and wise to the ways of the world. She represents the America of the '90s. The U.S.A. today is fat and sassy, and Roseanne's ratings prove it.
