Isn't it amazing that even though you may not be able to remember even one thing from your high school algebra or French classes, you can remember all the words to all the dippy TV commercials you grew up with? ("Mother, please! I'd rather do it myself!")
This half-hour compilation of old ads will have you smiling, cringing, gagging as you trip down memory lane. Introducing the ads—from Laura Scudder's "the noisiest chips in the world" to Ultra Brite toothpaste (it "gives your mouth sex appeal!")—are Mr. Whipple of "Please don't squeeze the Charmin!" fame, the Federal Express fast talker and, my favorite, Palmolive's Madge the manicurist ("You're soaking in it!"). The highlight has to be a young Mike Wallace hawking golden Fluffo shortening for better-tasting pies.
