Picks and Pans Review: New for Children
>THE WOLF WHO CRIED BOY Turnabout is fair play here; it teaches the same moral too. In pastel colors and calm language, Jeffrey Dinardo depicts a nasty wolfie who, while he wears bunny slippers at home, plays mean jokes. He trips Mr. Rabbit, who's toting groceries, pins a KICK ME sign to bird-watching Mr. Bear and gets so bored he yells "Help!" as if he'd seen a fiendish boy. Mrs. Pig, Mr. Cat and Mr. Turtle finally get fed up and give Wolf a comeuppance. (No, he's not attacked by a flock of sheep.) (Grosset & Dunlap. $8.95)
