This show makes it too easy for TV critics. First that title begs for such comments as "This show is a major dud." Then there's the ineptly developed premise: Gerald (Simon & Simon) McRaney as a barking, by-the-book major who becomes stepfather to three young girls after he marries their liberal reporter mother (Shanna Reed). Someone at CBS, learning what I thought of this aggressively inane show, asked me to watch it again, hoping I would change my mind. It worked. I hated it more the second time.
