Steven Bochco, co-creator of Hill Street Blues and L.A Law, must have read How to Sell Anybody Anything. How else to explain how this guy can go to a network and pitch a dramedy (half comedy and drama) about a 16-year-old doctor. ABC not only gave him a series deal; he got a prestigious time slot. The show will air Wednesday evenings at 9:30, the same period Bochco held last year with the canceled Hooperman. As Doogie, Neil Patrick Harris sweetly captures (much like Fred Savage of The Wonder Years) the innocence of youth. But every week? A doctor who is too young to switch to decaffeinated coffee or even chase nurses?
