Historian David McCullough hosts this 16-part documentary series focusing on the American past, including such topics as World War I, baseball and the Underground Railroad. In tonight's installment, writer-producer Thomas Lennon looks at Prohibition (1920-33). Filled with archival footage and colorful interviews, Demon Rum is as entertaining as it is informative. No wonder Prohibition failed. If I had had to dance the Charleston, I would have guzzled bathtub gin too.
