If you had only a nodding acquaintance with Knots Landing during its 14-year (1979-93) run on CBS, you may feel out of your depth plunging into this reunion. Sure, Abby (Donna Mills) was married to both Gary (Ted Shackelford) and Greg (William Devane), but could Greg have been involved with both Paige (Nicollette Sheridan) and her mother, Anne (Michelle Phillips)?
Hardly burdened by all this baggage, Greg and Abby deliciously scheme and double-cross. But Mack (Kevin Dobson) is a pain with his whiny midlife crisis, while wife Karen (Michele Lee) waits forever to say, "Get over it!" Gary is wishy-washy when he learns of his illegitimate daughter, and wife Val (Joan Van Ark) wiggles out of a possible murder rap with disappointing ease. In fact all the plot lines are resolved perfunctorily, as if the old gang had grown lazy on hiatus.
