Picks and Pans Review: Money Talks

Chris Tucker, Charlie Sheen

Tucker, a motor-mouthed comic actor who made a strong if not entirely favorable impression as the hyperventilating deejay in The Fifth Element, ekes out a few laughs with his rude, take-no-prisoners lines and attitude in this inconsequential comedy. A con man on the lam, he teams with Sheen (morose as ever), a TV reporter hot for a scoop, and the duo spend several days trying to elude both the criminals and cops who are—don't bother asking why—pursuing them. None of this is either very original or funny. Melrose Place's Heather Locklear shows up briefly as Sheen's fiancée, demonstrating acting at its Crest when she brushes her teeth and says lines at the same time. (R)
