Come to think of it, we've missed Angela Lansbury's Jessica Fletcher character since Murder, She Wrote ended its 12-season run as a CBS series in 1996. Now that the novelist-sleuth is back in a two-hour TV movie, we're glad for another chance to appreciate Jessica's dogged but mannerly persistence. The script involves her in the search for a woman (Mel Harris) who witnessed the murder of a whistleblower in the National Security Agency. There are lots of red herrings and clichés, but fans will enjoy watching Jessica prove herself smarter than a smug FBI agent (Keith David) and other government types. The network plans more Murder movies. Please, could they feature bigger-name guest stars and a faster pace?
