Nude sketches seem to have become a movie staple. Titanic, As Good as It Gets and Great Expectations all feature such artistic efforts. Titanic director James Cameron, a former art director, drew the sketch that appears in his movie from photos of a clad Kate Winslet. Helen Hunt's As Good as It Gets character inspires Greg Kinnear's artist after he sees her wrapped in a bath towel. Great Expectations' Gwyneth Paltrow went a good bit further, however, for her movie with Ethan Hawke that opens on Jan. 30: She posed nude for noted Italian painter Francesco Clemente at his New York City studio. In the film she will be seen posing for Hawke, who sketches her, but she retains her modesty. "I had this agreement with Gwyneth that I wouldn't reveal anything," says director Alfonso CuarĂ³n. "It was very tough to block it so that you see a lot but you don't."...

After Titanic, you'd think James Cameron might not be too eager to get back in the water. But that's just what he's doing with his wife, actress Linda Hamilton (Dante's Peak). They're headed to the Bahamas, where Hamilton will make two open-water dives to complete her scuba certification (Cameron has been diving since he was a teen). "Jim wanted to be with me on the dives," says Hamilton, who has worked only intermittently in the last few years in order to devote more time to their children, ages 5 and 8. "One of us needs to be home with them. But I don't mind. I love doing homework."...

PEOPLE contributing editor Mitchell Fink traveled to Morocco last month with Muhammad Ali as part of a Global Village Market relief mission to bring food and medical supplies to orphaned children. The former champ visited with King Hassan II and his two sons. Despite deteriorating motor skills due to Parkinson's syndrome, Ali still possesses a sly wit and the ability to land a good jab, Fink reports. At the United States embassy, a representative of the Moroccan employees there presented Ali with a coffee-table book about their country. Ali looked at the book, then at the representative, and said, "I traveled so many miles to get here and all you give me is this book?"...

At the Golden Globes in Beverly Hills recently, Minnie Driver exchanged hellos with actor Tom Wilkinson, the less-than-buff costar of The Full Monty, as she was getting on an elevator and he was getting off. After the doors closed, Driver turned to a friend and said within earshot of everyone aboard, "I had to have sex with him." Pause. "In a movie." Pause. "He's lost a lot of weight. He's very handsome now." Their film The Governess opens in June....

Melrose Place vixen Heather Locklear, who gave birth four months ago to her first child, Ava, with Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora, makes her singing debut on her husband's solo album Undiscovered Soul, due in March. Locklear provides harmony on the CD's third cut, "Fallen from Graceland." She can sing well enough, even though you can barely hear her, but isn't it nice to know she's there? "It's her debut," jokes a friend of Locklear's, "and her finale."
