Shaquille O'Neal and the Los Angeles Lakers got bounced from the pro basketball playoffs this year, but he has a winner in this occasional series of drama specials about kids and athletics. "Give and Go," the fourth Sports Theater entry since its start in 1996, concerns a teenager from Mexico (Michael Anthony Pena) trying to fit in at an American high school while converting his soccer teammates to the unselfish style of play he learned back home. The language-barrier jokes score often, and the script teaches lessons without writing them on the blackboard. Host O'Neal steps in periodically to draw analogies to his own life. Some things take time, he says—"like, say, an NBA championship."
