Courting Steffi: Tennis lovebirds Andre Agassi and Steffi Graf set their racquets aside and swung each other around while vacationing in Kauai, Hawaii, before Agassi headed Down Under to compete in the Australian Open, beginning Jan. 17.
In Manhattan, the cast of HBO's hit Mafia drama The Sopranos accepted an invitation they couldn't refuse: a bash to celebrate the series' second season. Cast members included Mob boss James Gandolfini (above, left, with wife Marcy); Nancy Marchand (above, right), who plays his mother and turned up (with a pal) despite her battle with lung cancer; and Lorraine Bracco (with daughters Stella, left, and Margaux), who plays his very nervous shrink.
Promising that their hearts will go on and on, Celine Dion and her manager-husband, René Angélil, renewed their wedding vows in a Las Vegas ceremony with an Arabian Nights theme that also reflected Angélil's Syrian and Lebanese heritage. The two first exchanged "I do's" in December 1994 in a traditional Roman Catholic service.
Ally McBeal's Lucy Liu was hanging on by a few well-placed threads at the Los Angeles premiere of the boxing comedy Play It to the Bone. The actress costars in the film with Woody Harrelson and Antonio Banderas.
In Colorado, Robert Kennedy Jr. (second from right) rounded up a few other clan members—cousin Christopher Lawford (left), brother Max and cousin Ted Jr.—to hit the slopes at the Vail 2000 benefit, which raised about $500,000 for his environmental organization, the Water Keeper Alliance. "This is for having fun, essentially," said Robert.
