British actor Charles Gray, whose portrayal of the villain Ernst Stavro Blofeld in the 1971 James Bond 61m Diamonds Are Forever inspired the satirical Dr. Evil character in the Mike Myers Austin Powers movies, died of undisclosed causes on March 7 in London. He was 71 and also played the narrator in The Rocky Horror Picture Show....

After almost a year and a half battling lung cancer, talk show host Judy Jarvis, whose Connecticut-based syndicated radio show was cohosted with her son Jason—making them the only such duo in that medium—died on March 7 in Hartford, Conn. She was 54....

Medley-maker and performer Pee Wee King, 86, who was born Julius Frank Anthony Kuczynski and wrote or co-wrote more than 400 country tunes, including the 1950 Patti Page hit "Tennessee Waltz" (which eventually became that state's official song), died on March 7 in Louisville, Ky.

Handcuffed
On March 9 in Manhattan, police arrested ChrissieHynde, 48, lead singer of the rock group the Pretenders, and charged her with third-degree criminal mischief. She and three others were protesting the sale of leather at a Gap store and showed their displeasure by tearing several items of suede and leather clothing to shreds. The store estimated the damage somewhere around $1,000.

Legal Matters
Claiming that his 37-year-old namesake is attempting to take over his affairs, comedian Richard Pryor asked a Los Angeles judge on March 8 to issue a restraining order against his son Richard Pryor Jr. In court papers, Junior says his 59-year-old father, who has been fighting multiple sclerosis since 1986, can no longer take care of himself, and he also accuses Jennifer Lee, his dad's fifth ex-wife, of draining his father's estate.

Suing
A woman who alleges she was involved in a hit-and-run fender bender with Halle Berry, 33, filed a personal-injury lawsuit against the actress on March 8 in L.A. Seeking damages in excess of $25,000 for back injuries, emotional distress and a broken wrist, Hetal Raythatha, 27, a real estate agent, says Berry collided with her car on Feb. 23 and sped off, an action that may eventually bring criminal charges. The star's spokesman said Berry will do "what she can to make things right."

End Zone
Football's Dan Marino, 38, the NFL's most prolific passer, retired from the game on March 13 after 17 years as quarterback of the Miami Dolphins.

On the Mend
Gab show host Rosie O'Donnell.who turns 38 on March 21, is nursing a broken right hand after she fell on it playing kickball with her children recently. "All 185 lbs. of me landed on my hand," explained O'Donnell.

Back Home
After crashing his ultra-light airplane, country crooner Doug Stone, 43, left a hospital in Springfield, Tenn., on March 9. He is expected to recover fully from a concussion, broken ankle and bruised kidney.

The End
On March 7 in Nevada, Darva Conger, 34, filed for an annulment. In court papers she said she and her husband, Rick Rockwell, 42, made a "mutual mistake" when they wed on TV's Who Wants to Marry a Multi-Millionaire on Feb. 15.
