In a complaint filed on July 19 in New York City, a former record publicist and talent scout says the mother of 19-year-old songster Christina Aguilera owes her at least $2 million. Ruth Inniss claims she saw the potential of the "What a Girl Wants" girl back in 1993 when Aguilera performed on TV's The Mickey Mouse Club. Inniss says she entered into an oral agreement with Aguilera's mother, Shelly Kearns, to represent the youngster, but other arrangements were eventually made that omitted Inniss's involvement.
Five-time Olympic gold medalist Bonnie Blair, 36, now a corporate spokeswoman and motivational speaker, and her husband, four-time Olympic speed-skating medalist David Cruikshank, 31, welcomed their second child, daughter Blair Cruikshank (8 lbs. 12 oz.), on July 14 in Milwaukee. Son Grant is 2.
Designer Tommy Hilfiger, 49, whose once thriving brand-name business has fallen on hard times, announced on July 21 that he is splitting from his wife of 20 years, Susie Hilfiger, 41. The couple have four children.
Musician Paul Young, who, as one of the two lead singers in the British group Mike + the Mechanics, was the voice heard in their 1985 hit "All I Need Is a Miracle," died of a heart attack on July 15 in Manchester, England. He was 53. (Another British rock singer with the name Paul Young sang the 1985 hit "Every Time You Go Away.")
Actor Ralph Fiennes, 37, cut his hand badly with a sword during a performance of Shakespeare's Richard II on July 18 in London. After the curtain fell, Fiennes, who has the leading role in the play, got stitches.
Hollywood Golden Age actress Loretta Young, 87, who won a Best Actress Oscar for 1947's The Farmer's Daughter and starred in her own television show from 953 to '63, has been hospitalized for undisclosed reasons in Santa Monica since early July. Young's rep says the star is feeling better and may be released shortly.

On July 24 an out-of-control blaze destroyed the one-story wood-frame house of Kim Novak in Eagle Point, Ore. The 67-year-old actress, who fled her home and escaped unharmed, lost much of her movie memorabilia, including an original script for Vertigo, as well as the computer on which she was writing her autobiography.
An L.A. judge activated an arrest warrant on July 21 for a woman who was convicted last year and sentenced to three years probation for trespassing at the Hollywood Hills home of Brad Pitt, 36. Athena M. Rolando, 21, has twice failed to appear for a hearing on her progress with counseling.
Paul Johnston, 95, and Lula Johnston, 94, the college sweethearts who rekindled their 1924 romance this spring and married on June 10 (PEOPLE, July 17), suffered critical injuries in a car crash on July 21 near Woodburn, Ore. Another driver allegedly drifted into the couple's lane as they were on their way to deliver peaches to a 102-year-old friend. The newlyweds were listed in serious condition at a hospital, as was the driver of the other car.
