Picks and Pans Review: Snatch

Jason Statham, Benicio Del Toro, Dennis Farina, Brad Pitt, Vinnie Jones

Freed from carrying a movie on his buff shoulders, Pitt shows considerable comic skill in a minor role as a mush-mouthed Gypsy pugilist in this clever caper film. But Snatch, a tale of stolen jewels, fixed boxing matches and bumbling London hoods, finds director Guy Ritchie coming mighty close to rifling from Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, his own 1998 gangster flick. Only this time he's working with bigger stars and a fatter budget. (R)

Bottom Line: Brit Pitt is a hoot
