The Oscars Through the Ages
"OSCAR FASHIONS ARE THE GREATEST AND MOST influential fashions in the whole wide world," declares Fred Hayman, for many years the gala's official style consultant. And who would argue? Certainly not the myriad celebrities (including, in 1962, the soon-to-be-married Felicia Farr and Jack Lemmon, above) who attended Hollywood's biggest event only after giving great thought to their choice of finery. Long after the ceremony has been forgotten, the stars, Hayman says, "will be remembered for what they wore."
