By Kathleen DeMarco
Single and 33, Diana Moore spends her days obsessing over her ex-boyfriend (otherwise known as the Monster) and worrying about her lucrative if mind-numbing job as an exec for a New York City dot-com. Then tragedy interrupts her self-absorption: Her parents and only brother are killed in a car accident. Adrift, Diana takes to the road and winds up in New Jersey's Pine Barrens, where she nurses her wounds amid the annual cranberry festival. Though the plot is predictable, De-Marco's sharp wit and Diana's Bridget Jones-style neuroses make Cranberry worth a taste. (Talk/Miramax, $21.95)
Bottom Line: Pleasantly tart
