>The Animal Rob Schneider's behavior turns comically beastly after a mad scientist implants him with animal organs. We laughed but weren't proud of ourselves. (PG-13)

Evolution Call it Ghostbusters 3. Director Ivan Reitman, who did the first two Ghostbusters, once again pits joke-cracking scientists against nasty creatures, only this time alien critters are the enemy. Orlando Jones, who's goofy fun, David Duchovny and Julianne Moore star. (PG-13)

Moulin Rouge It's easy to admire director Baz Luhrmann's vision and audacity in this musical set in Paris in 1899, but his frenetic editing leaves a viewer exhausted. (PG-13)

Pearl Harbor Bombs away! This romantic war drama is boring and bloated. (PG-13)

Shrek Monstrously clever. Great for kids, and even better for adults. (PG)

Swordfish Throw it back. Cyberthriller starts well but devolves into the usual chases and gunplay. (R)
