Bravo (Mon., May 20, 10 p.m. ET)

Newman has had a strangely bifurcated career. He's revered by critics for offbeat ballads ("Sail Away," "Short People") that teeter between sarcasm and sorrow. But most Americans know him for his gentle film scores (Ragtime) and Disney cartoon themes. This hour-long interview and concert is an excellent introduction to both Newmans—not to mention his unmistakable voice (a pained yap) and a subversive humor that, Newman notes, was never meant for car radio: "You're not going to be driving down the freeway and say, 'Oh, irony!'"

Bottom Line: All Newman
