Cole Porter may have loved Paris in the springtime. But for style-conscious celebs like P. Diddy, Elizabeth Hurley and Gwyneth Paltrow, summer's haute couture fashion week, showcasing designs for fall and winter, is when the City of Light truly shines. P. Diddy earned ooh-la-las in the full-length white-mink coat he wore to the Jean Paul Gaultier show. Ivana Trump watched 40 models with beehive hairdos identical to her own work the Chanel runway. And front row at Versace, pop icon George Michael canoodled with his boyfriend Kenny Goss, while Hurley borrowed Elton John's beau David Furnish as her date. A few nights later, dancing on a makeshift platform at the post-Valentino-show party amid some 200 of fashion week's elite, Gwyneth Paltrow seemed "so down-to-earth, so easy," says her dance partner, the designer's associate Carlos Souza. "She completely changed my perception of stars in Hollywood." Or on tabletops at least.
