MTV ROAD RULES: VOL. 1 Misc. Artists (Roadrunner)

Though the MTV reality series, now in its 11th season, may be running low on gas, this soundtrack is a sweet ride, with emo (emotional punk-pop) acts like Dashboard Confessional as well as hard-rockers like the Deftones.

DANCE FOR ME Mary J. Blige (MCA)

The hip-hop soul diva gets it percolatin' on this club-ready collection featuring house remixes of hits such as "Family Affair" and "No More Drama," as well as her faithful remake of First Choice's 1977 disco anthem "Let No Man Put Asunder."

HERE COMES THE NEW FOLK UNDERGROUND David Baerwald (Lost Highway)

Emerging with his first disc in nine years, this singer-songwriter is a neo-folkie with an alt-country twang. He could be the older, wearier brother of breakout hipster Ryan Adams.
