Leave sophistication to the Kennedy Center Honors. The MTV Video Music Awards at Manhattan's Radio City Music Hall on Aug. 29 offered a mix of lewd (get a room, Anna and Enrique), crude (Eminem's onstage threat to sock Moby) and, as usual, nearly nude (Christina Aguilera). As David Lee Roth declared, "What's rock and roll without a little drama?" Topless dancers shimmied at Sean "P. Diddy" Combs's after-party at Cipriani 42nd St., while the Island Def Jam bash at a converted church rocked till the wee hours. It was enough to overwhelm at least one reveler. Said 'N Sync's JC Chasez: "This city's too crazy for me."
