New Jacket City
Stars are making the grade this fall in new updates on an old-school classic: the blazer. Actress Alicia Silverstone says she recently snagged her sleek, silk Stella McCartney "because it looked hot and spicy." The season's body-skimming jackets—in leather, corduroy and velvet—are the perfect finish to an outfit that starts with trousers or jeans and fit the bill whether you're hard at work or play. Better still, says celeb stylist Danna Weiss, the tapered waistline "gives you an hourglass figure even if you're not a perfect size 6." Which makes it a cut above.

Actress Natalie Portman, honored in New York City last week with the Young Artist award from Americans for the Arts, gets a trophy too for the sophisticated style of her vintage Isaac Mizrahi gown.
Celine Dion busted! The crime? Slipping out of her Paris hotel last week with a clipped-up hairdo-in-progress. Getting snapped by a shutterbug when you're a walking "Before" picture is one thing, but modeling—albeit temporarily—a coif that resembles Queen Elizabeth's matronly style is just plain inexcusable....
News flash: There's a featured performer in Mariah Carey's latest video who is actually respectably attired. Nope, it's not micro-mini-loving Mariah. It's moonlighting Sopranos star Jamie-Lynn Sigler, appearing in the video for Carey's new single, "Through the Rain." The actress plays a young version of the songbird's mother, circa the 1960s. With it that sweet yet naughty glint in her eye, the groovy vintage minidress and mod makeup, Sigler could be dating material for Austin Powers. You go-go, girl!...
When it comes to fabulous front-row sightings, Donatella Versace's and Giorgio Armani's aren't the only shows in town. The most eclectic star lineup at the spring shows in Europe was the celeb combo of Penélope Cruz, Christina Ricci, Laura Dern with boyfriend Ben Harper, Claire Danes and Rosanna Arquette at John Galliano for Christian Dior's Spring 2003 collection. Air kisses out, group hugs in.
DOUBLE VISION
Kyra Sedgwick and Naomi Campbell won't be late for dates donning Dolce & Gabbana's $500 gold-plated timepieces. Campbell received the striking pendant as a gift, while Sedgwick picked hers up at the New York City boutique.
Baby, It's for You!
It's never too early to start the pampering: Popular at star baby showers these days are Davies Babies all-natural products. "The line is great," says Courteney Cox Arquette Arquette. "David and I always give it to our friends." The treatments include a soothing skin balm, diaper rash cream and a gentle massage gel. Yeah, baby!
